Hexagons and Squares Maths

WALT: add more than 3 numbers together by first making pairs to 10 Here are Luke and Thinuka demonstrating the strategy they have been learning in class this week. Can you practice this at home? Post a comment with a new equation that you practiced at home and expalain how you solved it... e.g. 16 + 14 + 2 = I took the 4 off the 14 and made 16 into 20. So now I have 20 + 10 + 2 = 12

  1. 22+5+15=42
    I added the 5 to the 15 equals 20, plus another 20 equals 40 plus the 2 equals 42.

  2. That's great Izaak! I wonder how you would solve 260 + 140 + 30?
